Double Pacifiers!

Jayden's mummy :- " Whenever i saw ah Den doing this wid his pacifier, it juz reminds me so much of my younger brother who used to do so when he was about tis age too. I haf a strong memory of this cox i remembered my dad took a photo of my bro sucking 2 or 3 of his rubber pacifier all at the same time! And now, ah Den is playing the same trick! Just like his 'qiu qiu' (uncle)... as naughty and as cheeky and they both have big head!

Normally when ahDen got hold of both his pacifiers, (i usually only give him one... the other acts as a back-up) he'll hold one in each hand. Alternately he'll put the pacifier on one hand into his mouth, then pull it out and put the other one in his other hand into his mouth again. He'll be doing tis repeatedly, and it owest makes me wonder if it is really so fun to play like tat."

Amen...

Jayden's mummy :- "
At the age of 20 months, one of the most wonderful two-syllable word tat Jayden can utter, other than 'mummy' & 'daddy', is no other than 'Amen'. It happened somewhere after 18th May, after we came back from Kuching this time.

That time he was sitting in his daddy's car and we were on our way home. While listening to the Kid's Prayer CD, which we had finally taken the initiative to place into one of the CD changer slot in the car, he surprisingly uttered 'Amen'. He was looking at me as he said 'Amen' while i was craddling him in my arms cox he was feeling sleepy then.

It sounded so wonderful and touching. I was feeling down then, and when he said that amazing word to me, i felt like crying. I was very happy hearing him saying 'Amen', and it instantly made me feel so much stronger. I kissed my adorable son on his forehead and replied 'Amen' to him as well.

He must haf realised how his newly achieved vocab thrilled both his parents, for he kept on saying 'Amen' non-stop after tat until we reached home! =))"

going Round & Round...

Jayden's mummy :- "
Lately Jayden just have this funny habit of turning himself around in circles. He really enjoys playing like this... even if he gets dizzy after his spin, he still enjoys going round and round in circles. Sometimes when he couldn't spin any longer, he'll just dropped himself on the bed and lie there giggling to himself. I guess he must be wondering why the world around him was spinning. Hahaha.... kids are just so curious.

Oh ya, and there's this funny act of playing with his shadow as well. I don't think i can record tis as the room will be quite dark when we dim the lights at nite. Whenever it's bedtime, we usually don't switched off all the lights. We'll leave one of the light on, the one on the way to the bathroom. So little Den den will be walking to and fro from the light. At first both of us were wondering wat he was doing marching to and fro in front of our bed, and then we finally come to realise tat he was noticing his shadow.

He tried moving away further from the light and saw the little shadow in front of him grew and grew. Then he tried moving towards the light, and even looking behind him to see if his shadow was tagging along. Then he'll sway his body from left to right, and giggled when he saw his shadow moving from side to side as well. Sigh... juz how cute kids can be!"

multi-purpose latch

Jayden's mummy :- "
Recently ahDen had learnt something new, and he keeps on polishing his new accomplished skill - tat is opening the fridge! >:P

Even when it's under our watchful eye, and when we said 'No Jayden, close the fridge now!'.... it was totally useless. He juz ignored us completely and continued playing wid the stuff inside the fridge. I remembered how my niece Esther used to do the same thing wid the fridges at my mum's house - opening & closing the fridge door non-stop. So it's supposed to be a stage for the toddlers, and sth tat they'll maneuver sooner or later.... and finally it is Jayden's turn.

Monday morning i played ahDen's nursery rhymes vcd for him on the TV, hoping i can steal some time to brush my teeth. Normally he'll be knocking at the bathroom asking for me but strangely not tat morn. So i took a peek outside to check on him and there he was removing the stuffs from the fridge - Bovril, margerine, condensed milk! No wonder he was being such a quiet & 'good' boy! All tat's bcox he had found a new 'toy'!

Finally both hubby & I could stand it no longer. We both knew it's time to get a latch for the fridge. Sigh! I used to hear my ex-colleagues complaining about their kids opening the fridge non-stop and a latch like tis solved all their problem. ;)) Who knows i'll be looking for tis latch too one day?!?! I cracked my head thinking where i'd seen this type of multi-purpose latch before.... and we decided to hunt for it at Anakku Karamunsing.

First stop at Anakku, I found the latch but it came wid a whole set of other safety items which i don't think i need. So we went to Guardian next, looking for only the multi-purpose latch. I found it alright but the latch alone costs RM8+, whereas the HomeSafety Gift Set costs RM20 and there are 14 items in it - Corner Cushions Round Type x4, Socket/Outlet Plug x4, Multi-purpose Latch x2, Anti Slam Doorstopper x2, Safety Scissors x1, & Cabinet Slide Latch x1. So definately getting the whole set seems to worth more, moreover there are actually 2 of the latches i wanted.

Ahhhh.... now finally the fridge is safe, and finally all the items inside the fridge are safe too. Phew.... save both mummy & daddy the trouble of looking out for DenDen's Fridge Mischief! Thank God someone actually invented these latches. =))"

SunDay School

Jayden's mummy :- "
15th March 2009 - A church friend suggested to me a few weeks ago to let Jayden goes to sunday school. Til now he owest attended church service together with us and we still didn't expose him to sunday school for children on the 1st floor of our church yet cox we both assume he isn't old enough for tat.

However today, we finally brought him upstairs to haf a look at wat all the other kids are doing there. When we entered the assembly hall where all the children gathered, we saw tat there were many other parents who are there too, accompanying their kids as they attend sunday school. The teachers taught the children to say prayers, to sing hymns, and other activities.

After tat, all the kids were divided into their age group and attended classes according to their age group. Jayden went to the class for the youngest kids and there were many other mums and dads there too, attending the class as well... ;)) The teacher took the kids' attendance and later told them all a bible story. After tat there were activities like colouring, playing wid toys, and the teacher even gave all the children some snacks as a reward for being good gals n boys.

All thru the class, Jayden didn't concentrate at all. I understand it was his first time being around so many other kids, and as usual he juz played by his own. He doesn't really mix wid other kids of his age, and all thru the class he was doing other stuff by himself. ;))

Well, it was a good opportunity to let him try to be more familiar wid sunday school cox he'll most probably be going to kindy next year. If he can learn to pay attention when the teacher is talking and also to befriend all the other kids, it'll be so much easier sending him for school.

He didn't finish attending the whole class tat day. After spending like about 15minutes in class, when the classroom door opened, he rushed out into the hall and went to the piano there. He wanted to play the piano, banging on its keys & trying to make all kinds of sound. So ended up both of us sat there, playing the piano!

Hopefully in a few more weeks to come Jayden will be more familiar wid sunday school. I'm not rushing him into trying to socialise wid other kids, so juz let him take his sweet time and enjoy himself there at sunday school every Sunday. May this practice eventually teach him the need to attend church every Sunday in future. Amen."

during nye-ma's trip to KK

Jayden's mummy :- "
Mum & my youngest sister ahNi came to KK to visit us last week. So fast this one week had passed and now tat the continuous days of having fun, going places, eating good food, going shopping had past; suddenly everything seemed to be back to our usual pace... boring & ordinary. Time to get some rest for jayden and oso his parents!

26th February 2009 - On this cloudy morning we decided to go to Manukan Island. Jayden's 'nye-ma' (mum's side grandma - mummy's mummy) and ahNi 'yee-yee' (auntie) just arrived late last nite, reaching almost midnite, and today we r off to the island. ahDen's first time riding on a speedboat, and first time going to the island.

I was wondering if the sound of the speedboat's motor will scare him, but thank God he wasn't afraid. Just tat it was past his nap time, and he was kinda drowsy while on the boat on tat drizzling morn. It was a good thing too tat it was actually drizzling, else we'll all be scorched and maybe it'll make us feel even more tired, especially when u haf kids around and u need to chase them... it makes u feel worse than working out for u can't stop even when u r tired! When we were waiting for the boat to arrive at Jesselton Point, ahDen was oledi roaming here & there & everywhere! RM25pax for the boat ride and RM3 for the entrance fee to Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman - Manukan Island. When we were on the boat, ahDen managed to catch a short nap with his daddy hugging him tightly. This boy was really tired but still didn't want to rest for everything seemed to be so exciting.

When we reached Manukan Island, ahDen was impressed with the feel of soft white sand beneath his tiny feet. We let him walked around barefoot, giving him the opportunity to feel the difference threading on the beach. He was delighted and very impressed, chuckled as his daddy tried to bury his feet beneath the white sand.

This clip was taken at Manukan, showing how frantic ahDen was when his feet got buried underneath the sand. He was kicking his foot frantically, really made me laugh out loud seeing his expression, so pardon me if u keep on hearing my laughters all thru the clip!

28th February 2009 - Around 11am on this Saturday morn, we started driving to Kundasang. Again we'll be overniting at Mount Kinabalu Heritage Resort & Spa. Mum had never been up to Kundasang before and the last time we went with Uncle KingChing, I'd promised her tat i'll bring her there next time to overnite. The trip was tiring and the road tat day was kinda full wid big trucks and buses, which initially slowed down our journey. Around 12+pm, we stopped at Fairy Garden to haf our lunch.

After we checked in, we went out for a ride to Temperate Garden to buy fresh mushroom. Really cheap if we buy it here than at the market in KK. We went to Desa Farm and tis time we were lucky for we saw all the black & white cows on the other side of the fence by the roadside. Shud be it was their feeding time then and ahDen was saying 'moo moo' when he saw all the cows there.

Later we drove on to Mesilau Resort but since they charged fees per entrance, we didn't get to go inside. Just tat my sis took lots of photos, stopping by the roadside whenever we saw nice view while ahDen took his nap in the car. Then we went to the Kundasang market to look at all the fresh veggies and oso fruits.

When it started to rain at 5pm, we rushed back to our resort and prepared the ingredients for our steamboat session tat nite. We planned to haf a simple steamboat there tat nite rather than driving out for dinner again. The temperature started to drop as nite falls, and it was starting to be cold. We bathed ahDen once we got back, and this time in the shower he wailed like hell. He was afraid of the humming from the water heater! =))

2nd March 2009 - Today hubby said to bring all of us to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park to see animals. My first impression on hearing tat we will be going to the zoo was -_-"' . I didn't expect much from the Lok Kawi zoo but it turned out to be far better than i expected. Hubby had promised ahDen quite a number of times about bringing him to the zoo to show him all the animals there, (for he seemed to be showing interests in animals lately!) and finally today wid 'nye-ma' and 'ahNi yee' around, we can all go together.

Even my mum said the zoo was nice for they had quite a lot of animals, even tiger, elephants, orang utans, rhino, sun bears... It was a good walk for all of us, exercising in the midst of green nature and thankfully hubby thought of bringing ahDen's stroller along, else we'll really faint from exhaustion! The had an animal show at 1115am and for a new zoo like Lok Kawi, it was really good enough. They are still upgrading and hopefully in a few more months to come, they'll be more to see there."

new toys!

Mummy & daddy brought me to Signature, Karamunsing last Sunday. We went there to look for baby walker for Uncle Pau's baby Nathan actually. Ended up mummy & daddy didn't see any preferable walker for the new baby, but instead they bought me some toys.

Mummy told daddy before tat she'd been searching for some animal toys for me, cox she wanna me to learn the words for these animals. The store was full of so many wonderful toys. I was so excited to see all those toys, especially those tat can make wonderful sound and music. My little hands were so busy too, as i kept on touching everything tat was within my reach.

Finally daddy found some animal toys. It was a pack of 6 cute rubber animals, but mummy said 'no' cox the animals doesn't look real enuf. They were more like bath toys, like my rubber duckie type. Then off mummy went to look at some stacking cups for me. She said i'd been learning to stack things up lately, and she wanted to buy me some toys which i can stack. (Ahem... it started during CNY when i was busy stacking up Tupperwares at ppl's house whenever i go visiting!)

Tis time daddy showed mummy a pack of farm animals and finally mummy nodded her head saying "Yes! I can haf tat pack of toys for they seem real enuf!". Hooray.... I was so happy and immediately i held on to my pack of toy animals tightly, else mummy changes her mind... hehe.... As for the stacking cups, mummy was comparing between the one wid 5cups or 7cups; as one was priced at RM13.90 and the other RM17.90. In the end she chose the one wid 7cups for me, so tat i can stack higher she said. My pack of farm animals costs RM11.90. I was so happy tat i haf so many new toys tat nite.

The following day, mum recycled one of my Anmum milk powder box into a 'home' for the animals. ;)) She doesn't want me to start throwing all the animals around. She even made some word cards for me, writing down the wording for each and every animal... Cow, Sheep, Horse, Goat, Donkey & Bull. Wow... i hope i can recognise all these words for each animal one day, hmm... i wonder when... :))

The 'farm' which mummy recycled from one of my old storage box.
