another MINOR achievement
Well, he's really old enough to not be using the cradle anymore. Some kids totally don't sleep in cradle net at all. So when we came back to KK, i let him take his afternoon nap by juz sleeping either on our bed or on his own mattress, and it went pretty well for the first few days. So finally the day came when daddy disassemble the metal cradle frame in our room and we kept it in the storeroom for future use, hopefully. Finally there is more space in the room and now we placed each of ah Den's Mammut chair and stool there, and it became a small play area for him.
Honestly this isn't such a big achievement for him. I'd consider quitting his midnite feed, giving up his pacifier and also potty training as truly MAJOR achievement for a 2 year-old, but sorry to say ah Den seems to be still pretty far away from any of those.
Sigh! One step at a time... every kid is different, I truly understand tat. So no pressure towards my little toddler.... juz pray tat he'll quit midnite feeding soon. I had forgotten wat it felt like to haf a full nite sleep without waking up to make milk! Wat to do... parents are the greatest beings on earth! Right now, seeing him being able to do without his cradle, i'm oledi feeling really proud of him. Jayden is growing up! "

Langkawi & Penang Trip
We stayed at Hotel Helang while in Langkawi. The place is very near to the Langkawi Airport, somewhere in Padang Maksirat. We rented and traveled in 2cars at RM200 for almost 3days - (reaching around 12pm on 5th and departing around 5pm on 7th) - we thought it was a pretty good bargain! We went for the boat trip to several places on the 2nd day, namely Cave of Bats, Crocodile Cave, Fish Feeding Farm, and also Eagle Feeding which was really awesome as u see the sky filled with soaring eagles. The eagles were truly a magnificient scenery - and we get our chance to be captain and drive the boat too, with all the terrified passengers on board!
At Penang, we didn't go to many places juz the Bukit Bendera and some shopping malls. Bukit Bendera truly wasn't such an attractive tourist area with the terrible management and rude passengers... well, i guessed tat'll be my first and final time going up the super slow cable car. The management truly needed some improvement if Penang wan to remain the Bukit Bendera as one of its tourist attraction! The best thing about the Bukit Bendera was its ABC (Ais Batu Campur) and the view of Penang... tat's it... totally fullstop after these! =))
Penang food was great, and truly very, very cheap. Well, the portion was kinda quite small-sized so maybe tat's why it's cheaper than elsewhere. I guess tat's wat i miss most about Penang... it's food... the assam laksa, char kuey tiaw, hockien noodles.... ;)) "
More photos from sis's camera which she posted in Facebook. She has more better photos than i do! Enjoy viewing!
Trip Part I & Trip Part II
Happy 2nd Birthday!
4th September 2009 - Tonite we'll be departing for Penang from Kuching. Jayden's grandma & aunties planned to help him celebrate his birthday earlier as we'll be in Penang on his coming birthday. So my mother-in-law cooked her tasty Foochow Chicken Soup MeeSua with hard-boiled egg, and my sisters-in-law got ahDen a big cheese cake! This was the ordinary but homely birthday celebration we had for Jayden on his 2nd birthday. The meesua grandma cooked was as usual very yummy and ahDen managed to finish his bowl of meesua. As a pure Foochow boy, tis little guy juz loves to eat Chicken Soup Meesua. ;))
After dinner, we rushed to take bath and clean up before departing for the airport to catch our flight. Phew! Wat a rush...
Birthday Gift from Daddy tis year :-
Disney Deluxe Book Gift Set
Birthday Gift from Mummy tis year :-
Nike Sandals size 10C (sigh... i got the size wrongly... the previous pair was juz a size smaller... blur mummy :p )
And thanks for all the angpows given by 'nye-ma' and all the 'yee-yee's. I'll deposit tat into ahDen's account one day...
On the 6th September, we planned to treat my family members to the Ramadhan Buffet Dinner at Hotel Helang as a bday celebration for Jayden, but we had to cancel the plan cox Jayden was down wid fever tat day. So ended up he went to bed before 7pm in Langkawi tat nite, and daddy even had to stay in the hotel taking care of him. Sigh! No point of us still feasting on the buffet, when the poor birthday boy was sick. I guessed he played too much and was too tired during the Langkawi trip. We juz hope he gets better soon.
The next day, 7th September was Jayden's birthday and we departed from Langkawi around 5pm. When we reached Penang, it was oledi 8pm+... we went to haf dinner at some place and it was hubby treat as a simple birthday celebration for Jayden. The meal was very, very cheap and thank God ahDen was feeling better then. As long as he's healthy and happy, no birthday celebration oso nevermind! "

little army boy!
Yesterday we went for his haircut again, and since he was owest making such a big fuss over his haircut, we decided to cut his hair real short tis time to make the visit to the barber shop lesser for him. But it was something new for all of us, having his hair tat short was kinda weird. He look cute, juz tat his head look extremely big. I bet he felt much cooler now wid his shorter hair and he definately sweat lesser. But juz tat i still need some time to get use to my son's new look. I admit both daddy n mummy kept on giggling when they see how little ahDen look now. Little army boy in the house! "

ahDen singing...
Last nite as usual we went out to shop for restaurant's goods. As we reached Servay Putatan and searching for a parking space, ahDen was playing wid my handbag. He was baby-talking to himself while playing, then suddenly he shouted "may... may... may..." in a really loud voice. Then daddy asked him "why u 'may' so loudly??"
Then i continued listening to him and i finally figured out wat he was doing. He was singing "Row Row Row Your Boat!" Wahahaha... he sounded so cute. Although it was still far away from tat but i could still catch the tune and the words he was trying to pronounce. He goes "ow...ow...ow....." then followed by loud "MAY...MAY...MAY.."! He wanted to sing "row row row" & "merrily merrily merrily"! Then i told daddy, u listened to ahDen carefully. He was trying to sing the nursery rhyme. So cute!! and he was really focused while singing his song. Wish i could have recorded tat down! "

achieved VoCab
Then the sleepy boy nods his head while still lazing on our bed and replied "Okie" in a steady and relaxed behaviour. I thought i heard wrongly so i ignored him and tat nite, before his bedtime i asked the 'milk' question again. And tis time, i was positive he said 'Okie' to me. It was really cute for we expected a usual 'Yes' from him, but instead this cheeky boy said 'Okie' while nodding his head like a 'tauke'!
So juz to jot down his achieved vocab so far...
(1) O-pi = for "Open"
(2) Cra-ki = for "Cracker"
(3) Bai-bai = for "Bye bye"
(4) Aer...pan = for "Aeroplane" (tis was the clearest word at a time)
(5) A-mas-ken-ken = for "Thomas & Friends" (tis one really still baby talk)
(6) O-nyo = for "Oh no!"
(7) Bot - for "Boat"
(8) Ball - for "Ball"
maybe still some more but i couldn't think of it now...

1st KL Trip
8th-13th July 2009: This was Jayden's first trip to Kuala Lumpur, but it was first time for all of us to actually be flying from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur. Before this, we always flew from Kuching to KL which only takes about 1hr45minutess and tis time flying from KK it actually took us 2hr30minutes. All those long hour in the plane made us kinda uncomfortable and little Jayden juz didn't wan to put on his face mask. Before this we were all wondering if we should juz canceled this family trip, but with all the payments made for the hotels and oso our flight tickets, we juz got on wid our plan.
Hubby always insists tat it's really good to bring kids traveling more often because it's a chance they'll learn more things. Honestly wid each trip we had, we really noticed tat Jayden will learned sth new. Like tis KL trip for example, it was his first time to board so many different types of transportation.... namely LRT, cable car, taxi & buses! He was thrilled when we brought him on the cable cars on the way up to Genting, although he seemed to be terrified in the first place but he got over it real soon when daddy taught him to wave at he passing-by cable cars. He started waving and saying 'bye bye' to all the cable cars tat went pass and it was really cute. Even when he saw picture of the cable car on a banner days after, he will still wave and say 'bye bye' at it!
Jayden's first time on the LRT and monorail was really cute as well. He was amazed at the moving train, and it reminds him so much of his favourite cartoon 'Thomas & Friends' and he will start to say 'wheeeeee....' whenever the train starts moving. Although it was terribly tiring for all the adults especially daddy, for we need to carry heavy Jayden along all the way to catch LRT, catch buses, all the public transport; but we were truly happy seeing Jayden being so excited.
At Genting, Jayden was still too young to play most of the rides so we only brought him on the Busy Bug Monorail. We paid RM8 per adult juz for this ride alone, and we ended up being stuck up there for 40minutes cox sth went wrong wid the monorail. So it was worth our money after all for we actually paid RM1 for 5minutes! =) The worst thing was ahDen actually poo-ed in his diaper before we board the bug, but the queue was way too long for us to re-queue again, so we insisted riding it before giving him a diaper change. It was embarassing for the poor lady and her son in the same cabin with us had to suffer with ahDen's shit smell for tat long! We didn't predict tat sth will went wrong wid the bug... rotten luck for them i guess!
We stayed at Genting Theme Park Hotel, and our rooms were so far away from its lobby. It was situated at the other wing of the building and it was terribly far! For tis trip we really WALKED alot, and WALKED so far! It it was walking alone, it'd still be fine for all of us but it was including carrying loads like our backpacks & our kids! Phew!
We went to Ikea on tat Saturday and spent more than RM500 there. Ikea was amazing but not the ride we took there. It was our first time there, and all the stuff there seems wonderful and we wanted to get alot of things for our future house. We ended up spending the most on Jayden, for daddy said he didn't spend any money on the rides at Genting so we used tat money to buy his favourite toy for him. We spent RM110 on 2 different types of wooden toys for him, and nearly RM200 on the Mammut stools and chairs for the kid's room we plan to haf in our house next time.
The most comforting encounter was actually finding a toy tat Jayden can focus on for so long. Before this we had friends commenting about Jayden being a little to the hyperactive type and the risk of him being attention deficit. Tat really worries both daddy & mummy. We spent more time then bringing him to the beach and playground, hoping he can use up his excess energy daily. Finally tat day at Ikea, he found tis wonderful toy. Although it was such a simple toy, it managed to keep ahDen focus for the whole afternoon while we shopped in peace. We put both Jayden and the 'Mϋla Bead Roller Coaster' toy inside our shopping cart, and he stayed in there playing with it until we were done wid our shopping. Both daddy & mummy felt so much comforted and happy wid ahDen's progress tat afternoon, so ended up daddy really don't mind spending so much on him! The other toy tat we got for him was the 'Mϋla Crane with Blocks'. We really wished we could get him all the MULA toys but they were quite costly.
Another new encounter for Jayden was he finally had his first taste of strawberries. Auntie Ming bought a box of strawberries and okie, it was kinda sour but still greedy Jayden ate one after another! Tis trip to KL we noticed tat Jayden starts to show interest in toys, and he will insist holding on to a toy tat he likes in the departmental store. But we know tat we mustn't spoil him and buying him everything tat he likes. Since Jayden can understand more now, we had better start educating him. "
